Travelling in a private 4WD Land Cruiser, you will enjoy well-timed game drives at a relaxed pace, combining rewarding wildlife encounters with the comfort and serenity of a luxury lodge environment.
Day 1: Nairobi – Shaba National Reserve
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up (approximately 6:30 AM) from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or the airport. Drive north through the scenic highlands of central Kenya, passing Nanyuki and Isiolo as the landscape gradually transforms into the rugged and semi-arid beauty of Shaba.
Arrive at Sarova Shaba Game Lodge in time for check-in and lunch. The lodge’s riverside setting offers excellent opportunities to spot wildlife directly from the property.
After a short rest, depart for an afternoon game drive (around 3:30 PM) in the reserve. Look out for elephants, reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryx, and a wide variety of birdlife uniquely adapted to this dry ecosystem.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Shaba National Reserve
After breakfast, set out for a morning game drive when wildlife activity is at its highest. With fewer visitors compared to other parks, Shaba offers a more private and authentic safari experience.
Return to the lodge for lunch and leisure time. You may relax by the swimming pool, stroll through the gardens, or enjoy views of the river from the lodge’s public areas.
In the late afternoon, head out for another game drive to explore different sections of the reserve as animals gather near water sources.
